We set out to cement the last, lingering lamentations of a solemn summer, so I conjured up collages, stop-motion animation, multiple mixed media montages and a series of distinct performance setups to both capture a fleeting moment, celebrate its passing, and do this absolute ripper of a tune justice. Have yourself a bittersweet headbang at our behest.

STAY INSIDE | FRACTURE

To capture the explorative unease that permeated Stay Inside’s songwriting in the wake of the pandemic, I crafted an interconnected world in which people feel the physical effects of what they witness on television at indiscriminate hours, a catalytic experience that irreparably alters the lives of those involved in varied, poignant ways.

We concocted four distinct narratives, shot a short film, invented a public access dial-in program, and assembled a fount of found footage materials, kinetically linking them through frenetic edits, spacious slow-motion, and practical-effect applications, all in the service of exploring what it means to exist within decay.
